Super Finn

Finn's development has been absolutely exploding lately. He continues to explore the house with the focus and intensity of your typical Law and Order detective--it's like he's trying to find that one clue that will put the bad guy away. And for GOOD this time. He plays ball with the dog, and helpfully says "ba! ba!" to let you know he wants to play. When he sees a dog, it's "da!" and when you leave, it's a wave and "buh-ba".

But last week, he blew me away. I went to pick him up from daycare. A bunch of the moms, kids, and caregivers were standing around outside, chatting. Finn was in the yard, playing with a toy. When he turned around and saw me, he said, clear as day, "mama!" With intonation as if to say, "What a pleasant surprise, mother! Please join us!" It was the most adorable thing I think I have ever witnessed.
