Quotable Finn, Four-Year-Old Version

Talking to Uncle Mike, originally uploaded by Daddy Shawn.

Can I just tell you how delightful Finn is? Maybe it's just because we're on the other side of the Terrible Twos/Threes, but Finn has evolved into not just a fine four-year-old, but darn good company. I really miss him on Fridays (previously the day reserved as a "Mommy Day") now that he's in school. I even picked him up a few hours early last week so we could play in the nice Fall weather.

I'm pleased to report that he's really thriving in preschool. He has two male teachers, and two female teachers, and I really like all of them. Each teacher brings something totally unique to the classroom. And they have been so positive about Finn's contribution to class, telling me how much they enjoy having him and how smart he is. (I know, right!?!)

Here are some notable Finn quotes of late:

[Playing with Cormac's toes when he's in the high chair] "Look mommy! I'm playing the xylofeet." (that is such a Shawn joke)

[Doing a magic show for Cormac and I as audience members] "Ladies and gentlebabies.... for my next trick, "

Me: "How'd you get so sweet?"
Finn: "Well, I have these chemicals in my fingernails. When I move my fingers, they come out and go into the rest of my body. And this makes me sweet."

[After his birthday] "Now that I'm four, am I sweeter? Because I'm growing, and my heart is getting bigger. So it makes me even sweeter, right?"
