Clint and I took Anna and Finn to Space Center Houston. They had this cool exhibit where the kids could build robotics. Here is Finn's creation. I love how he is so (justifiably) proud of himself.

finn's latest invention

Finn's new favorite part of school lately has been creating things out of what he calls "recyclements." He's made (obvs) a whole bunch of rockets and robots. On a rainy Saturday, he decided to make this camera. The next thing he wants to make is a typewriter. I am just surprised he even knows what a typewriter is. Here's his tour of his camera project.

I seriously don't know where he got this, but every time Cormac starts kicking in his bouncy seat, Finn starts doing this funky dance where he sings, "Go baby, go baby... Go go go baby."

Unfortunately, he seems to have inherited the dance talents of his parents. That's his friend, Cal, dancing with him. And you'll see that it ends with him kissing the camera.

It is currently ten degrees in here Chicago. Every single kid I know is sick. Finn is currently recovering from bronchitis. Not only do I wonder how people ever settled this punishing land in the first place, but I'd like to know how they did so without the relief of having Dora the Explorer Tivoed. I mean, we're pretty much housebound at this point. Dora has been around a little more than usual these days.

Since Delilah and Finn both had bronchitis, Cassie (Lilah's mom) and I figured that, hey! Misery loves company. We're going nuts with these sick kids in the house, let's get them together.

Here they are with a rendition of the alphabet song. Yes, I let them bang away for an hour to burn off some energy. I even let Finn finger paint this weekend, which should indicate how desperate I am for appropriate activities to appeal to the two-year-old mind.

The Finnie Shuffle

Finn does this funny little dance move that we like to call "The Finnie Shuffle." Here he is showing it off for his Internet audience. My favorite part is when he stops to point out an airplane, then immediately picks up again.

The reason he keeps stopping and running away is because he wants me to immediately play back the video on my camera for him to watch. A narcissist, he is.

OK, Finn, now say "Mama"

There really isn't anything like hearing your baby say "mama" on demand. Especially if you're his mama. Here, I bribe Finn with a cookie, which he lustily devours, and murmurs his expanding vocabulary on demand. He's become quite the mimic, like a miniature human beatbox or that guy from the Police Academy movies who could convincingly imitate a lawnmower or siren.
