Here's Finn, donning my "tankini" and calling it his spacesuit. The laundry basket is his rocketship and pieces of his Thomas the Train Engine tracks are his "stuff" he's taking to the moon. Perhaps Uncle Clintie and Aunt Sudi could advise if this is how you train for spacecamp?

We are so showing this to his girlfriends when he's a teenager.

It is currently ten degrees in here Chicago. Every single kid I know is sick. Finn is currently recovering from bronchitis. Not only do I wonder how people ever settled this punishing land in the first place, but I'd like to know how they did so without the relief of having Dora the Explorer Tivoed. I mean, we're pretty much housebound at this point. Dora has been around a little more than usual these days.

Since Delilah and Finn both had bronchitis, Cassie (Lilah's mom) and I figured that, hey! Misery loves company. We're going nuts with these sick kids in the house, let's get them together.

Here they are with a rendition of the alphabet song. Yes, I let them bang away for an hour to burn off some energy. I even let Finn finger paint this weekend, which should indicate how desperate I am for appropriate activities to appeal to the two-year-old mind.

The Finnie Shuffle

Finn does this funny little dance move that we like to call "The Finnie Shuffle." Here he is showing it off for his Internet audience. My favorite part is when he stops to point out an airplane, then immediately picks up again.

The reason he keeps stopping and running away is because he wants me to immediately play back the video on my camera for him to watch. A narcissist, he is.

where's the baby?

This movie isn't for the casual blog reader. It's for all the hard-core Finn Fans out there. The ones who come here to see this guy in all his 11-month glory. Finn unadorned by clever T-shirts, kitschy music, or pop culture references.

Here's Finn playing peek-a-boo behind the curtain with me this week. I find it adorable, but then I am his mother. And yes, I know I sound like a total tool when I babble to him in BabySpeak.

OK, Finn, now say "Mama"

There really isn't anything like hearing your baby say "mama" on demand. Especially if you're his mama. Here, I bribe Finn with a cookie, which he lustily devours, and murmurs his expanding vocabulary on demand. He's become quite the mimic, like a miniature human beatbox or that guy from the Police Academy movies who could convincingly imitate a lawnmower or siren.
